Air Source Heat Pumps

An ‘Air Source Heat Pump’ runs on electricity. The system draws in air at its ambient temperature and compresses the heat from it. This heat is used to heat water in cylinders, this is then used in the same way as heat is produced by a boiler to heat your underfloor heating, radiators or hot water.

Exhaust Air Source Heat Pump

This pump extracts air via ductwork from the warm areas of the building, such as bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. Heat is removed from the air and is then used to warm the domestic hot water or to heat the building.

The exhaust air heat pump should cover the heating requirements of a well insulated property.

When working efficiently the unit can reduce energy consumption by up to 50% when compaired to conventional heating systems.

Ground Source/Geo thermal Heat Pumps

Ground Source Heat Pumps work by using heat stored in the ground from the suns solar radiation to supply all of the energy required for a home heating and hot water system. The top 15 metres of the earths surface maintains a relatively constant temperature of approx. 12 degrees. This energy can be used to heat buildings. Pipe is buried in the ground, either in a borehole or a horizontal trench. A mixture of water and antifreeze is pumped around the pipe, absorbing heat from the ground, which is then concentrated and transferred to the buildings. This heat can be used to heat domestic water and heating systems.

Ground Source Heat Pumps are ideal for new builds or barn conversions.

Hetas Wood Burner Technology

The growth of the renewable energy sector has meant increasing demand for solid fuel, wood and biomass installations.

How much does it cost to install a wood burning stove? If you already have a chimney and no additional building alterations are required, installation cost can be as little as £450, our HETAS approved engineers can confirm costs during a site survey.

HETAS is the ONLY competent persons registration scheme specialising in the installation of solid fuel, wood and biomass installations and there are many benefits associated with HETAS registration.

Logs, chips, pellets and briquettes can be registered with the HETAS scheme for wood and other biomass.

The scheme enables the public to easily identify quality wood fuel suppliers, increasing customer confidence that there is reliable fuel for safe heating with efficient burning in their appliance.
